How ChatExtender helps

One workspace for ChatGPT and Claude. Every thread from both, in a single private app on your Mac — switch models, open a heavy thread, and keep going without losing your place.

Feature 1 of 4: One workspace for ChatGPT and Claude.

Whether you're shipping a project over weeks or researching across dozens of threads, ChatExtender keeps the conversation going — your context never resets.

  • Memory that carries across sessions — heavy threads keep going instead of stalling.
  • Attach memory to any message — notes, rules, code, schemas, configs, or whole reference files. Add them yourself with a click, or scan a thread for optional suggestions to pick from.
  • Reusable global collections — save your project's context once and pull it into any thread.
  • Search every thread — full-text across all your conversations in a provider, with matches highlighted.
  • Both models, one workspace — switch between ChatGPT and Claude without losing your place.
  • Completely private — everything runs locally; your conversations never leave your Mac.
One-time purchase · No ChatExtender account required · macOS 13+

Questions before you install

Does this replace ChatGPT or Claude?

No. ChatExtender works with your own logged-in ChatGPT and Claude accounts. It adds a private workspace around them for reusable context, cross-session continuity, and local search.

Does ChatExtender upload my conversations?

No. Synced conversations, saved memory, and reference files stay in a local SQLite database on your Mac. Messages still go directly to the provider you choose.

What about ChatGPT Projects and Claude Projects?

They are complementary. Provider Projects organize work inside one service. ChatExtender adds a local layer for searching history, carrying selected context into fresh sessions, and moving between ChatGPT and Claude. See the practical comparison.

What happens during the free trial?

Download the full macOS app and use it for seven days. You do not create a ChatExtender account. If it fits your workflow, the license is a one-time $30 purchase.

What are the requirements?

macOS 13 or newer and your own ChatGPT or Claude account. ChatExtender works with the web chat interfaces; it is not a replacement for either subscription and does not connect to coding-agent products.
